Welcome To The Lions DresDEN

Welcome to Season 2, After a great 1st season and promotion to Bundesliga 2 we had a good look at the squad and thought long about how we going to play, so some tough decisions on who to keep and who to sell and let go.

From the out-going list above the only players I was disappointed to lose was.

A player I was looking to build my midfield around, but £2 million from Lorient was too good to turn down, to rebuild the squad ready for season 2.

Was the best Centre back at the club, but no matter what I tried would not sign a new contract, so went on a free transfer to Werder Bremen who we would be challenging in Bundesliga 2.

most of the transfer budget went into the wages so we could bring quality players to the squad the pick of these are.

A quality Ball Playing Defender Only 25 so will improve with the squad and be a great player to start attacks from the back.

Jenson plays as a Shadow Striker with his off the ball and superb composure, chips in with important goals and around play, at 26 years of age still room to develop, which you will see the main thing I look at when bringing in new players to join our talented squad.

Dynamo Dresden 5-2-1-2

I will start with how we did in our 4 friendlies preparing for season 2 and our first season in Bundesliga 2.

Poor game to start with then an 8-0 win against lower opposition before a good draw against Bundesliga opposition and then finish off against a local team with an 11-0 win, so good to boost the morale, As I see the season being a tough one.

Can East Conquer West

Welcome to East Germany and Dresden, I will go through what the club/fans’ expectations are, and My own expectations moving forward.

Welcome to the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadium in Dresden £603k rent per year and a capacity of 32,249 (20,989 seated) built in 2009 and owned by the council. Moving forward I like us to be in a stadium owned by Dresden which will be purpose-built and obviously save us money paying rent.

corporate facilities Average, Training facilities great and youth facilities Good, these will all be improved as we get the finances to do so.

The board want us to work within the budget. one-year contracts for over 32 and 2 years for 30-year-olds. gain promotion to Bundesliga 2.

We have a healthy balance of 6.2 million in the bank.

An ok pre-season with 4 wins and 2 defeats, A little concerned the defeats were the last 2 games, but we move forward and look forward to a successful season.

Our first game in the league was at home to 1860 munchen after a red card to Kammerknecht after 5 mins, was an up hill battle and we did well to keep it to a 1-0 defeat.

After a disappointing defeat we went undefeated right through to end of September, with 6 wins and 3 draws and a superb win against Hoffenheim in the German Cup.

We then hit a bad bit of form only picking up 2 wins and 2 draws in 9 games, a defeat to Borussia M’gladbach see us go out of the German cup, but we was never expected to get anything from the game, so was quite happy that it was only 3-1 loss.

Set up 3 friendlies to try and get some morale back into the squad while the world cup was on. 2 wins and 1 defeat see the squad in a better place, ready for the season to restart again.

A great turn around of form see us reach the end of April. played 17 win 10 drew 6 lose 1. We are top of the league going into the last 4 games, can we keep this superb run going and become champions and get promotion to Bundesliga 2 at the first time of asking.

The day east and west Germany re-united, A day which is now celebrated by a German national holiday- where German unity is celebrated, A day of joy for the whole nation.

For one club they look back on this as a poor period, Once known as the best club in East Germany, Not just the best supported but also the most successful and financially secure. All this was in the pre Unification times.
